Here are my smallmouth bass tips:

1. Drop shot
2. Yamamoto Shad Shaped Worm
3. Broken rock shorelines, offshore reefs and ledges, gravel islands
4. Ten to 40 feet - smallmouth could be anywhere in between at the same time
5. Work slowly - thoroughly covered water produces more than covering a lot of water quickly
6. Fluorocarbon line or leaders - line visibility is one less thing you have to worry about before leaving the ramp

Follow these tips and you should catch plenty of smallies and maybe even a toothy critter (walleye) or two and maybe even a few ugly green bass and stripers.
