Won't Be Fishing For A While

Hi Ed,

These days, kidney transplants are pretty routine and done very quickly......even easier than just 5 years ago. My good buddy donated his kidney to.....believe it or not......his doctor, whom he had become good friends with over the years. The transplant went smoothly, and both healed very quickly!! The doc stayed on the required meds.......no problems, and he got his life back!

Wishing your wife the same wonderful outcome...... 🙏 (y)

And.....as all of us Wordlings know, she couldn't have a better care giver.....(y)

;)

We're praying for that. Her chemo treatments after her cancer surgery are what destroyed her previously weakened kidneys putting her on dialysis in late 2023. When her kidneys shut down she almost died. I was so grateful to have her even with dialysis, but I'd love to have her back to what she was before. I always loved her but didn't realize how much until going through all this with her. The thought of losing her was too much for me to contemplate.

I'm just grateful for every day with her. She's always been loving, loyal and supporting to me. She was a terrific step mom to my children. Even my ex has acknowledged that, and my children love her dearly. All my family love her. I've been fortunate to have found her and to have had her for 37 years of marriage.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt story of true love, honor & respect. IMHO, It's rare these days, and beyond priceless. I didn't get your wife's name, and I do attend weekly (hopefully not weakly... ;) ) prayer sessions, so if you & she are OK with it, I'd be honored to put her name into our group prayer sessions. We don't give any details, just the first name and ask for prayers/healing/happiness for that individual. I've heard some great healing stories after we've done this....like...cancer gone. Was it the prayer? Who knows.....but the prayer sure didn't seem to hurt...(y)

Best,
Russ
