FYI one of my best trips to Powell was in February late 70's. I was about 11 or 12.
A Snow storm hit while at the Rincon, we didn't have the weather forecasting accuracy like today.
18" of snow on the back deck of the house boat, I built snowmen on the beach.
No heater on the houseboat, so we boiled water and I learned to play poker.
Missing a day of school because we couldn't get back in time was a plus too...
