We trolled everything from size 5 to size 7. I donāt know if it truly mattered but they did seem to inhale the 5s more. Maybe just because it was a smaller bait. Unsure.Great report...What size flicker shad and how fast were you trolling Headed down on the 19th Dennis from Junction
Im headed on the 20th as well just hoping the ramp can handle the dump as the lake has dropped 2' since I was there 2 weeks ago...Thank you for the great post and pictures. Glad you were able to enjoy the trip and the fish turned on.
Iām starting to get pumped for our trip on the 20th.
I did a bad job at taking any pics of the ramp but I couldnāt see the end of it anyway due to muddy water. It looks like the lake dropping has bottomed outIm headed on the 20th as well just hoping the ramp can handle the dump as the lake has dropped 2' since I was there 2 weeks ago...
I don't go on Holidays, but I chased boils around Halls last year in August, with several wake boats, and had no problems, even in my 16 ft boat, they were all cool, and even some would chase boils for a while. You would be welcome on my boat.I think for boil mania Iāll hop on your boat. I donāt know if I can stand the crowds that summer brings! Memorial Day weekend is enough for me!!
Dworwood and I are also. They have switched us several times. See you down there! We are booked at the lodge 4/19-4/23. Itās supposed to be ground floor, parking lot side. We will see. Sq
Satellite image from yesterday. No wall of mud yet...My group of four will be there the 19th going home the 23rd. House boat on A dock, double slip, yellow run about 24 ft. Does anybody know where the mud line is currently? Last I read was Good Hope Bay was 2 ft visibility and it look like the lake ended at the Horn.
Doesnāt appear to have changed at all since I was there. The lake changes to that lighter green color right before you round the corner to good hope (motoring north of course). Will be interesting to see how quickly it changes when this runoff makes it to the lake.Satellite image from yesterday. No wall of mud yet...

Yeah, it is frustrating! Better than having it happen while your down there and were not expecting it though. All of next week looks like crap now. Windy at the start of the week and cold the second half. Sucks
It does suck but I think weāre going anyway! Got to get a trip in before it turns 90 down there. Hopefully we can find a few fish while we are there. All of next week looks like crap now. Windy at the start of the week and cold the second half. Sucks
How much snow is there in the Black Hills? I have gone over there and found all the Forest Service lands were covered in snow and most of the turkeys were down on private property! Still killed a gobbler though! Was kind anticlimactic, as I called one in at 7:30 am on the first morning of my hunt. Drove 9 hours to hunt for a few minutes!Hate it for you guys!
Iām heading east m, today after work, on a turkey hunting adventure hitting multiple states. To start the trip will be lows in the 20s with wind chill at 15 degreesā¦.and thatās the best weather I can find! Other places are 40 mph winds
