35 year old Crestliner. Water Spots? What's that?

I had a white Lund fisherman, and had tied off to tires for years night fishing. And it had black rubber all around it. It bothered my neighbor more then it did me. And he told me he would take it all off for $50, and I told him to get after it . He wet sanded that boat, and I hardly recognized it. I had never heard of anybody wet sanding one, but it was an old boat, and I't couldn't hurt it. It was back to a clean one owner

We wipe the boat and motor daily. I have found vinegar/water (plus elbow grease) works best for our aluminum hull and Merc 150 outboard.

I’m miss my old Crestliner for that reason: enough scratches and rubbed spots, I never worried about docks and beaching. My Ranger had 0 scratches when I bought it. Coming in to the north boat dock last November, I was gliding in perfectly at about 0.5 mph about 4 inches from the dock. Just as it was too late, I noticed a piece of sheet metal bent out about 5” off the side…made a nice gouge in the gel coat. Never would have thought twice about it in my old boat!!!

Is this a fiberglass or aluminum boat? IF any part is fiberglass I'd use Purple Power on the fiberglass and mix it to the strength for fiberglass as per the label. Then I'd use a soft deck brush and scrub and rinse smaller sections at a time. Follow up with the 3M cleaner wax for Fiberglass and buff. If it's aluminum I'd give it the Beatles treatment and just Let It Be.

So, I'm somewhat fanatical about keeping my boat, motor, and trailer clean and looking new. I do recommend Hot Sauce but definitely use latex gloves it you use it. It does work well, but not as well as the Boat Saver products. Very easy to use and works great on the boat, motor, trailer, and wheels.

To avoid dock damage when I come in from the lake in high winds, I use the Impact Fenders. Not inexpensive but they work exceptionally well in protecting the boat. I've caught in 60 mph winds at Lake Powell before I could the boat out but the Impact Fenders took the brunt and my boat was protected despite the high waves smashing my boat against the dock.

as everyone says hot sauce is the best... I even stretch my gallon out by putting it in a five gallon water dispenser then putting a gallon of vinegar in and three gallons of distilled water. (i get that at that piont its mostly vinegar water) boat bling also has quicky wax I use every so often... and wax with a buff wheel every spring... owning a buffing wheel is so handy when you find spots you miss and the hard water set in the buffer takes it right off easy money

Another Hotsauce fan here. A quick spray and wipe down everytime the boat comes out of the water. Quick and easy.

Rain X Bug and Tar remover washer fluid for bugs and tar.
Vinegar/water (50/50) for light water spots.
Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner for heavy water spots.

These are the recommendations I was able to find from Lund last year when I bought my new Impact
