Water flowing over Niagara Falls

I was recently at the falls and amazing how much water flows every days. We could only wish for this much water. According to the data 675,000 gallons of water flows over the falls every second. Got me thinking how long it would take to fill Lake Powell. If my math is correct the lake is down

18million acre feet that equates to 5,865,318,000,000 gallons of water

At 675,000 sec = 972,000,000 a day it would take 6034 hours or 251 days to fill Lake Powell

I was curious how fast the Niagra Falls are eroding. I'm glad to say that the rate of change has been managed so instead of eroding a few meters per year it is now changing only 1 foot every 10yrs or so.

At some distant point they'll have to put a dam in there to keep Lake Erie water level stable, but that's quite a few years from now.
