5, 500’s without a lick’ of sense or boating skills, getting stuffed. Lots of that on those channels. Then there’s always the guy with an 18’ whaler and a 90 horse makes it look easyI stumbled across 2 YouTube channels that essentially stream Boat Porn. Boats vs Haulover Inlet and Boat Zone. Here is just one example of dozens. Five 500s isn't even the most ridiculous.View attachment 30711
I think I’ve watched most of the vids from those two channels and wavy boats which I think does the Boats vs. Haulover. Like Dorado eludes to, there some hapless pilots, but there are also the ones in a 17’ Boston Whaler with a 90hp that go through there like a boss. But! I’ve also seen some very skilled pilots in big Midnight Express, Hydra’s, BW’s, SeaVee etc.. take on Haulover when it’s really firing and cruise right on through.I stumbled across 2 YouTube channels that essentially stream Boat Porn. That’s crazy!I just dropped my Lund off for some work. The mechanic pulled out his order sheet. The Merc 500R MSRP is $85,000. Just the motor not rigging or anything. I thinks it’s awesome folks can buy boats and stack 5 or 6 motors on them.
Only in America.![]()

What a cool ride! From a time when things were a lot simpler!Well Ford did it with the mustang, chevrolet with the camaro and dodge with the challenger so why not resto mod a classic boat as well.

The audio of this boat starting is incredible
I don’t see any ear protection being used??!!The audio of this boat starting is incredible
I think those are aircraft engines, maybe Allison's or Rolls Royce. Not to worry about ear protection, without it he'll be deaf very soon!I don’t see any ear protection being used??!!
I had the same thought! Plus having 2 giant engines and exhaust pipes right in your face seems a bit concerningI think those are aircraft engines, maybe Allison's or Rolls Royce. Not to worry about ear protection, without it he'll be deaf very soon!
On another safety note he must be right over the prop shafts and props, like right between his legs. His hearing is probably the least of his concerns if things go wrong
There is an Antique place in Desert Shores, little town north of Salton City, off of Hwy 86 the west side of Salton Sea. A guy named Rick owns it. It is amazing what he has there. It's called Desert Timbers. He has a lot of old wood timbers and boards he sells. Good old solid stuff. That is another solid copper prop in the picture. Such a neat place.Great old outboards.....there used to be an amazing old outboard display at the Casino in Avalon....amazing outboards from the 20s-40s...all shiny and looking brand new![]()
