Been searching for a Top Water bite all year, finally had some luck this weekend mid lake. Small Mouth were leaving the water like torpedo's trying to smash my Vixen. Not a lot of hook ups but enough to make me keep throwing it. All fish had big shoulders and fought much bigger than they were. Lots of fun! Caught a few crank bait fish as well. Hula grubs worked as always.

Lake Powell smallmouth fight harder for their size than any smallmouth I have taken anywhere. It's amazing how hard these guys fight. I think part of it is they are well fed. Well fed fish are strong fish and strong fish fight harder!
