So for me this time of year is when I really start catching the stripers. (thanks to Wayne's insight a few years back) Lone Rock was very productive last week. In two days ( 6 hours of fishing) I brought in about 45. Spoons worked great. At times only the gold would produce, silver at others. They were all holding at about 48 feet.
I did have some crazy top water action in a boil in the back of Lone Rock canyon. They were hammering the shad in about 2 feet of water along the bank. Shad were actually landing on the shore! Should have shot a video but was way too busy with the Whopper Plopper. I'm sure you all can understand.

Anyway really looking forward to winter fishing on the greatest lake anywhere.

Reed, great report,we were there the week before and had a similar experience. We couldn't catch them on spoons but had luck with anchovies.
What a great time of the year to be on the lake. Hope to run into again

Looks like you’re kayaking?
How often do you fish that area this time of year?

Yes it is my Aquatrax. I am on The Lake all year. I will be there again this Friday and Saturday possibly heading to the back of Last Chance. I think from now until March is a great time to spoon for Stripers.
