No Crappie. We had a couple first timers the first couple days and just wanted to wear them outNice PFD
Did you get any Crappie, or did those hard fighting Striper have a hold on you![]()
Water depth was 45’ all the way down to 10’. We tried the super deep divers 12-18 with little luck. The graph showed tons of fish at that depth, but the ones that were feeding were at 10-12’. I’ve always believed fish see up better than down and I like to present my baits/lures at about 2-5’ above the fish. So we used 8-10’ diving crank baits.PFD, were you generally finding the fish in a certain depth range? Also wondering what the deepest water is up around the horn at the current water level…
Thanks PFDNo Crappie. We had a couple first timers the first couple days and just wanted to wear them outThe last day was just for my girls and we were having a blast. Besides, you’re the only one I know who catches Crappie consistently. I’ve tried your method several times with little to no success. That’s why you’re the Tiger Woods of Powell.
My brother-in-law is down there now. He said it was slow yesterday around Bullfrog, but ran up to the horn this afternoon and the fishing was almost as hot as 2 weeks ago. He said he saw someone spooning around the double islands at the mouth of blue notch with limited success. He’s back trolling around the horn with big fat healthy stripers hitting hard and fast. Thanks PFD
I know you and your bunch know what your doing, I was hoping to hear you caught Crappie in the North. I'm here at Powell now and it has been really good on the assassins. Wish my brother was still here to enjoy it. They were boiling and gulls were going nuts![]()
Nice! They are so healthy this year. I can see how the hunt to find them and the frenetic action you get spooning is addictive! He caught 73 in just a couple hours once he started spooning. He said they were thick! 11/18/23 update!
