on the southern part of the lake, and some select locations east and north, I have connected to Navajo Mountain for cell and data using Sprint and Verizon. signal strength varies but is generally reliable. Have also had friends who connect with AT&T. But, after switching to T-Mobile, we see "Can't connect" when trying to use that tower. After some calling around I got to talk to a roaming support specialist at USA-Commnet (owns the tower, third party partner of T-Mobile). She informed me that T-Mobile has denied access for their customers to the tower on Navajo Mountain. WTF??? After some weeks, T-Mobile will not tell me why, just a continuous "we're waiting for more information..."

There is strength in numbers. If some (hopefully large) number of us file a coverage complaint then maybe T-Mobile will get the message.

If you are a T-Mobile customer and want service on the southern lake then PLEASE file a coverage complaint.

From the T-Mobile community forum: "I've had some luck getting T-Mobile to unblock some US Cellular LACs by going to them with specific information. What I'd do is call 611 and tell the CSR that you want to file a coverage complaint. Be specific about the location where you want to service and the fact that there's a Commnet tower and its location. Make sure they give you the "ticket number" call back in a week or so to request status. Be prepared to hear some confused blather from the CSRs you talk to. Most of them I've encountered are not very technical and only have been given certain stock phrases to explain things. "

Its a system wide, company wide problem We have Consumer Cellular (gave up trying to make Verizon work) and they wanted us to use the T-Mobile sim. It didn't work at all. We then went to their AT&T sim It works but roaming only and no data at all in Page or Greenehaven. Several years ago we knew a Verizon exec (retired) and he went to PHX to inquire. They told him because we are in a "resort" area they weren't interested in increasing coverage up here.
Does anyone have data here in Page?
It looks to me that none of the care about anything but the big cities (easy fruit to pick) and none of them even consider the huge increase in tourist traffic up here in the last couple of years.

Cliff, I don't want to stray too far from the title of this thread, but briefly, I use Verizon and I do have decent voice and data, both 3G and 4G LTE in Page, on the lake, and in Kanab. I do have a booster on my boat for better lake service. -Doug

I just called in and apparently there is a new owner of the tower and they raised the prices high and T-Mobile let the contract go in about June 2019. Currently there is no agreement and no agreement timing in sight. Please feel free to call in and put your name on the list of interested people. T-Mobile actually encouraged people living on the rez to leave T-Mobile as they were roaming more than 50% of the time and the system could eventually block them.
