Watching the YT channel, has paid for the gaskets plugs and other sundry items.. No I doubt the engine will go back in the boat at least without many salvaged replacement parts but the video is getting enough views to pay for quite a few things, including that fully built boat engine that appears in the background of many of the shots.

With two 30 gal saddle tanks, It would go through 60 gallons of gas in half an afternoon...... :LOL:

The most fun was the 'jetovator' where you could raise the jet stream and it would be like a fire hose that shot water 100'.

Was fun to ski through the torrent.....but I inadvertently soaked two people on the dock once taking off....

Opps, I still feel bad about that. It was cold salt water in San Diego bay.....:rolleyes:

I remember the "good old days"of the 80's, 30 gallons of fuel was around $20. Fun times!

Maybe the '70s. U.S. Gasoline prices never averaged 67 cents per gallon in any year in the 1980s. And Lake Powell prices were surely above the national average?

When adjusted for inflation, the average annual price of gasoline has fluctuated greatly, and has recently experienced sharp increases and decreases.

The first time I went to Lake Powell in 1974 gas at the pumps at the marina was $.75 per gallon. That was staggering at that time. I remember carrying a gallon of gasoline on my bicycle home to put in the lawnmower and it cost me $.25 cents
 
Agreed, gas prices fluctuate, In the mid 80's and again in the mid 90's there were periods where pump gas was under or at a dollar a gallon. I had gas guzzling boats and trucks in those periods and still do. Psychologically it was nice to fill your boat and truck at or for less than a buck a gallon. Lake powell was full then too, I liked those times a lot better! I learned to waterski behind the old Berkeley Jet and BPO 455 set up from that era. I think the one in the video is a Ford, Interesting experiment. Thanks for posting.
