Stripers up north?

BrianID, I highly recommend looking for Stripers just North of the wall at Buoy 25. The Stripers leave the back of canyons this time of year, and I've had tremendous success there. They are usually concentrated near the bank so it's not necessarily a trolling situation, but if you have good electronics you can locate them and fish Anchovies on jigs or use spoons. I once caught 48 Stripers on 48 casts and our group has caught countless Stripers there at this time of year. I won't be there this year, as our group is headed to Clear Lake, CA which is reported to have more fish per acre than any lake in the U.S...We shall see. I doubt whether it could be better than when the Stripers hit Buoy 25. Good luck!

Not sure of legality, once many years ago at Deer Creek someone I knew( since passed) put one on a perch with small hook and leader in back fin. After a few minutes the balloon went crazy!! Moving much more than a 9 inch perch. A boat chased it down ! Pulled it in a 9 lb brown, it ate the perch!! He was so embarrassed, he threw that fish back after a quick measure no one got a decent pic!! 😝

Thanks for the tip. I didn't have reliable cell service while on the lake and didn't read it until tonight. I fished around buoy 25 last year around early May as well. I found some in there just like last year but it was just smaller schools and I didn't find any large schools around buoy 25.
I'll post a report in a day or two when I get time.

Dallas, is that the “cobblestone side hill” you are talking about or the drop down into “Red”? Sq
The up and over around the side hill

It was great to meet you and your boat will be easy to spot. A definite lack of fish but the weather was great. Goldie was very happy it wasn’t 100 degrees. So, you take the left and go over the hill instead of the cobblestone side hill? Sq

Yes and when you get to the top , you have to get out and find the direction of the decent . Thats why I call it Pucker . They put the the road closed sign right where Rush went into the washed out side of the road caused by erosion at the start of the hill in April of 2023.
