stripers for bait?

I have read of people using stripers for bait. Are you using the meat from fillets or other parts?

stripers work fine for bait, any fleshy parts.

push a hook through fresh striper skin (with some meat on it), and you won't have to re-bait your hook for days!

I just cut one into strips about 3/4" wide by 2" long, leaving the skin on and as said above it will last quite a while leaving more pieces for chum.

When I fillet our strippers there is always a 1' strip of belly meat and skin left. I just cut it free and then cut it into several shad shaped pieces and throw them in a zip loc bag and put them on ice. They last all day, and don't stink like them dang chobies!
