Spring time visit

Hey everyone! I have been coming to the south end of lake Powell for 2 years now and it’s amazing! I’m coming the first weekend of may and I’m coming with my family for a fishing trip, will the crowds be bad?. I want to go see rainbow bridge, we are on a bass boat so we can go around 50mph. I was wondering how long in miles and time it will be to go from stateline to rainbow bridge and how long the walk will be with the low water levels. Would it be easier to launch antelope marina? Also how’s the fishing? I see it’s fishing good! Thanks all!

Due to low lake elevation, launching at Antelope Point is closed. Launch at Wahweap Stateline Aux ramp. Boat traffic will be steadily increasing as weather warms but 1st week in May should be nice. The big crowds start coming the week of Memorial Day weekend.

As for getting up to Rainbow Bridge from Stateline, it’s about 50 miles each way. Bring an extra 5 gal as backup, Dangling Rope Marina has been closed for several years so no mid-lake fuel. Not sure how fast your boat is but assuming 30 mph plan on a couple of hours (you’ll pass through 3 separate Wakeless zones along the way).

Here’s the latest and best intel on Rainbow Bridge:

Have fun and post a report with some pics!
