North Rim fire as I was told

Is that the same fire (or group of fires) on the north side that started a couple of weeks ago? If so they must be letting nature take its course...??

Flying out of Page on Sunday morning, the sunrise was spectacular above the smoke, but Navajo mountain was barely visible.

There was a small, assume lightning-caused fire we saw on the plateau above Gunsight Canyon not too far from the lake - maybe -3-5 miles. A lightning/thunderstorm went through that area on Friday late afternoon. It looked like it would burn itself out pretty quickly with nothing but sagebrush around it. I'd guess it has burned a hundred yards X 25 yards and was mostly smoldering/smoking.

On my flight to Phoenix Wednesday I took this. The smoke extended down the grand canyon as far as I was able to see, channeling up to the dam and spilling over into Lake Powell. It was really amazing to see.
