Three of us Intrepid anglers decided to travel to Buoy 25 to find Stripers. There were a few but we caught more Smallmouth than Stripers. We then went to Last Chance. We trolled and I hunted Stripers on Livescope. The most important aspect of Livescope is that is that it tells you when there are NO fish there, so you don't waste your time. We caught only one Striper trolling. The water was devoid of bait fish or Stripers until I found them in 25 feet in the back on the North side. We caught nearly 50 in a couple of hours using Anchovies and Moon Eye Jigs. However, 75% of the fish were skinny, though they all fought hard. As we was leaving we ran across a large pod of Stripers at 26 feet of depth in the middle of Last Chance. I marked a waypoint and we left. We returned the next day to the waypoint. I dropped the Livescope transducer into the water and they they were! I told our guys that we were going to have a great day, and we did indeed. We caught over 140 Stripers and 9 Catfish in 4 hours with many doubles on and several triples. In contrast, however, these fish (only 100 yards from the previous spot) were nearly all healthy. We caught many 3-4 pound Stripers which was an outstanding experience for all of us. Here is the important take away. If you moved the boat 25 yards in any direction, they were NO Stripers or bait fish. Lake Powel is very different from prior years when it comes to Striper fishing. Tight lines - Dex
