South end fishing report 4-17 4-19

Had a beautiful weekend on the south end. Weather was overall pretty good considering it was post cold front. I launched Friday night and spend the night in Wahweep. I fished the rocks right before the no wake zone headed to the dam. Caught some smallmouths, 1 largemouth and right before dark a surprise walleye. about 20 inches. Then found camp for the night and set up. Next morning headed up lake to warm creek. Worked secondary points that were close to deep clear water and did really well on large mouth and small mouth. Tried shallow and further back but did not find many. I think the fish right now are still transitioning to the shallows. Moved onto gunsight and repeated the same pattern looking for rock and structure closer to the main channel and did really well again. Overall had a great trip. Caught lots of fish and the weather was great. Looking forward to going again May 13-17. All fish were caught on soft plastics. Ned rigs, swimbaits, walleye assasin and cury tail grubs. Happy fishing all. Water temp was between 58-60 deg
