Just a quick post for the south end. Sorry no pics, just some old guys fishing. We Bait fished the at the dam, MM3, and Navajo canyon. Feast or famine at the dam. We would catch 4 or 5 Stripers real quick and then go 1/2 hour to an hour with nothing. Then a school would cruise past and we would get 4 or 5 more. Slow at MM3, we caught a few, then moved on. Found a school of Stripers against the wall by the rock slide at the mouth of Navajo that produced a few times over the 3 days. Nothing at the usually hot point past the islands (or what used to be islands) up the canyon. We did find some Crappie in the cove around the back side of the island. We caught a few on little white jigs. It was fun floating in the shade on a hot afternoon and watching the fish come right up to your jig. I wish we had little mill worm or gulp worm to tip the hook. Oh well, next time.
I would say 75% of the Stripers we caught were healthy, most were 12 to 16 inches with some 18 to 22 inchers mixed in with them. I'll be back soon, so watch for the"Fish and Surf" and stop by and say "hi". Don't let the Surf part scare you, that hardly ever happens anymore. It's all about the fish now. Good luck my friends!
