I think there's lots of evidence agreeing with that. A case in point: Sunday mid-day we were coming out of Halls Creek on our pontoon at 15-20mph, well to the right when a boat with a couple of guys came roaring around the corner in front of us and headed straight at us. I cut fairly hard to starboard to give them more room (they already had more than 3/4ths of the channel) only to have them turn hard port and pass between us and the cliff face at 30-40 mph saluting as they passed. There was about 25 yards between us and the wall at that point and 80+ yards to our port. Scared the bejesus out of my wife.I truly believe a lot of it is due to a lack of any boater training/licensing before being allowed to operate a boat on the water
That one reminds me of the boats (or PWC) running fast through the tight canyons. Last year we had a wave runner come closer to us than the boat in the video around a corner in Fifty Mile.A Kayak Met A Speedboat And It Didn't Go That Well — At All
