Snow in Colorado and Utah today

Any reports of significant snowfall in the Colorado or Green River basins today? NWS is predicting up to a foot or so in some of the higher mountain areas. With river levels at about 8K cfs, the rapid melting of this new snow could give us a few green readings on the elevation chart.
Current storm totals per ski resort. This is from OpenSnow.

Supposed to keep snowing. Not really going to make skiing great as there is little to no base left at most resorts but at least it won’t be skiing on “snirt”!

Central and Southern mountains got the goods on that last storm. Supposed to be another storm starting tomorrow into the weekend that will favor the northern mountains. Colder temps but less snow.
I guess at this point we are all pretty deflated about the snowpack and every little bit helps. Still hoping for more this spring and then maybe we will get a bunch of rain.
All we can do is hope. 🤞

I drove from Durango to Hotchkiss and back Wednesday. Good snow on the passes. Coal Bank and Molas had a solid 20", Red mountain was probably 15". It will probably melt pretty quick on the east, south, and west faces. But built on the north faces. I snowmobile Tin Can and Bolam quite a bit and it usually gets a minimum of 10"-12" more than Coal bank with these types of storms. Looks like the La Platas did really well also. Most of these drainages are a straight shot to the lake without being held back in a reservoir . Looked better up there than it did a month ago.

We are in the green today! Inflow is above 9K and likely to remain above that for several days. They have also reduced the outflow as scheduled for April. It won't add much to the lake but will, at least, slow down the loss. Upstream reservoirs are also seeing some rises with the average now above 70%, up from 68%.

From Open Snow: First day of second storm. I thought it was starting Friday. Sounds like there was good snow at some Central and NW Colorado mountain locations last night into this morning. Winter temps up there today. Supposed to continue to snow throughout the day into the evening but with limited moisture and cold temps it’s gonna be fluffy (less SWE).

Looks like there is a good possibility for rain over the next few weeks as well. Not sure where or how much.

🤞
