Slurpies

Pulled into the bay up lake behind Gregory about 8:30 this morning. I like to fish smallies on the edges and into the Gregory channel. As I was motoring up I saw all these little splashes. Realized it was stripers slurping. Ive never seen this before as I dont normally target stripers. Threw a white 4 inch white shad paddle tail because that was on one of my poles already. Had a couple strikes but not hooks. Followed the from one side of the bay to the other. Could see the stripers following my paddle tail. Pretty cool to see for once. Did boat a 2 1/2 lb striper of my hula grub a little later with 2 following it while I had it on the hook.

We have been on the lake for a few days & have not seen a single striper. Have fished Gunsight, Last Chance, Neanderthal, Fence & Main Rock Creek. Mostly large mouth bass, but also some SMB, crappie & one walleye. Would love to bring home some striper. Can you give any more detail on location? We will go just up lake of Gregory on Thursday & look. Black hull center console Capt's Rx.
Thanks!

They were in the bay below Gregory Butte. On the uptake side. Thats all I got. I was very surprised when I pulled up I there. Its very wide open and they moved fast following I assume the tiny shad. They would dissappear then come back up some ways away. Also I would be fishing the edges for smallies and they would all the sudden come up again almost right at the boat. Pretty cool to see. Especially since I dont come here for stripers. I will fish them when I have company and they want to catch stripers, but I am usually able to satisfy that at the dam with anchovies. Bit this year even that has been slow for me.
