Shade fix

This fix was too good to not share since I imagine some of you have been in the same boat. A gentle LP breeze came up and ruined (bent and broke some of the metal x’s) of our collapsible shade canopy. Replaceable parts for one section were $30 from Amazon with the shipping! I tried interior wooden splints to repair the sections but they also broke. Since they look liked the old fashioned white curtain rods I thought I could fabricate new x’s from those. Turns out they are exactly the right size to slide in and fit tightly inside each section. A 48”-84” rod ( for $2.50) cuts down to the required 40” fix giving multiple layers of metal for each piece. Way stronger than original.
