Runoff this year

The lake level this year has improved a lot. What I haven't seen anyone talk about is sublimation. A lot of the climatologists talk about how the runoff has started earlier and earlier each year, and that the amount of sublimation (solid to gas) has increased dramatically. I believe that this years runoff has been spectacular not only because of the snow pack, but also because of the timing/length of the runoff, and lack of sublimation. If you look at the last 10 years of data, there is only 1 year where the lake was not declining at this point of the season.

I don't know about earlier runoff.... It seemed that this year's runoff was delayed since we had a cooler spring. Just my personal observations.

Tiff, you are right...and that is part of the lack of sublimation benefit. Hot springs bring the water down too early and too fast, and/or snow evaporates.
