We took our next-to-last trip this year to Lake Powell last week. We launched on Wednesday afternoon and camped in Dry Rock Creek Canyon (3rd cove on the south side). We first fished towards the back of Dry Rock Creek Canyon (just past the last little canyon to the north). Stripers were very willing Thursday morning on jigs but not so much in the evening. We did not see any boils. On Friday, we moved our fishing to the back of Rock Creek Canyon. There were STACKS of stripers in the back of Rock Creek Canyon, but again, we did not see any boils. In the mornings, we consistently caught AWCTF (all we cared to fillet ~ 30 fish) with jigs; evenings were slower. Came back with two ice chests crammed with fish. Relatives have been calling. Thinking of getting one of those electric fillet knives for our next trip in October.

As an aside, we were beached and tied off before the storm that moved through on Thursday. I think that we were in an area that was spared the brunt of the wind, but we thought that it was pretty bad. I was amazed when we got back home to read of the damage and destruction that came with the storm. Our thoughts are with those who were injured and for those who sustained damages.
