We are in Pinedale, Wyoming. South of Jackson Hole. We hunt ruffed, blue and sage grouse locally. Chukar and Huns in central Wyoming, pheasant in ND and MT, Chukar, Huns and quail in ID and Nevada. I love the devil bird, and will chase them as long as my legs allow!

Looks like you got your live well figured out? I also like your vertical rod and net storage in the back middle there. Glad you were able to get into them!
The live well is still not perfect, but it is much improved. I just added a restrictor to the spray nozzle. I’m not sure why, but when it’s full of fish it just doesn’t drain as fast as I think it should.

When I bought the boat, I was reluctant add a rod rack in front of the livewell…I was afraid to screw into the beautiful gelcoat🤣. My solution was to attach a 4-rod rack to a seat post. That way you can just remove it when you’re done fishing. Works good, looks a little cheesy…

I have 2 replaced knees I hunt chukars in Utah ,Idaho and Nevada, I’ve got closer working dogs now so I can keep up,

That is a boat full of dawgs when you are catching fish. I am guessing that there is a bunch of excitement for each fish caught. Buddy of mine hunted Muensterlanders also, he was in Neb. My lab is always dismayed when I practice C&R, when he was young he piled out of the boat quite often to "catch" birds and the occasional carp.

Congrats on a great trip.

We used to have a dog that got all excited when we caught a fish. It got very annoying.🤣 One of our Munsterlanders still gets excited, I actually put her on a check cord when I’m flyfishing from the bank. But we put all our dogs on short cords when they are on the boat, otherwise there would just be too much mayhem. Unhooking treble hooks from a dogs mouth is not fun for anyone involved! Unfortunately, I know from experience… We usually go to shore every couple hours or so and fillet, and let the dogs run loose and swim. They really like chasing after the carcasses! By the time they’re done with that they’re pretty content on the boat for another couple hours.

Another thing I will add about the crappie fishing. We did have the livescope, but I think it was more of a hindrance to the catching. We found the fish in obvious spots that you wouldn’t need electronics to find and want to fish. Then once we were fishing, my wife outfished me because I was spending so much time staring at the stupid screen. 🤣🤣🤣
I agree on live scope I usually find crappie by catching them in places I would expect to catch crappie and or have caught them there
In the past!! Last trip found thise huge schools of little stripers can’t say I found any crappie before I caught some ! 😜
Last year in my brothers boat we found crappie schools out in bays not associated with “ crappie cover” suspended we ended up casting out into the bay to the school he “found” I’m sure we would have cruised right past those schools as we were fishing shoreline, we ended up catching quite a few that trip, live scope helped.

My regular fishing buddies and I are headed for LP on Saturday, and I'm wondering about the mudline in GHB. I'm watching Copernicus closely, but I'm not sure I'm correctly interpreting what I see. We love the fishing in GHB since we're after walleye primarily and usually find crappie in the fall trip (even though this is supposed to be the best crappie fishing time). If anyone has some firsthand knowledge about water clarity in GHB right now it would be much appreciated. We always have a "plan B" location, but GHB is our first choice.

I just looked at the most recent image from May 3. It looks like red Canyon, Ticaboo and the lower bay near the floating restroom are still quite fishable. Otherwise, it looks like it’s getting pretty stained/muddy…

Hey Steve. Sure thing. I’ll swing by to say hi at some point. You do the same!
Wish we could fish all day long each of those days. Will be working hard and fast so we can fish as much as possible.
We are in slip N4. Serenity.

Dave
Steve!!! I didn’t realize this was you. Definitely a blond moment. I was literally just looking up who had posted to me before I left for my trip. I wanted to reach out and apologize for not stopping by.

I clearly didn’t put 2 and 2 together, multiple times.

So glad this is you as I never got your number before you left on Sunday.

Let’s connect at some point. Would love to chat more with you about some of the ways you guys manage your houseboat.

You guys crushed it fishing as well. What a great trip!
