Officials issued a flash flood warning Thursday for south central Tuolumne County due to “imminent dam failure” at Moccasin Reservoir Dam in Tuolumne County.

The National Weather Service said the flood waters will be contained by the Don Pedro Reservoir about one mile downstream.

The warning is in effect until 2:15 p.m. Friday, NWS said.


Areas that will be impacted by the flooding include Highway 49, Highway 120, Moccasin Creek to Don Pedro Reservoir and Moccasin Fish Hatchery.

Drivers are advised to turn around if they see flooded roads.

No other details were released.
