My brother and I. Our first trip was in 1978, and I think that this is a photo from it. I would have been 3.View attachment 6689

Wow, this pic brings back a flood of memories.

In the 70’s my Dad and Uncle (his brother) were partners on a ‘76 Glastron 19 foot tri-hull very similar to this one with a 135 hp Merc “tower of power“ outboard. All us cousins were teenagers at the time.

Dads would let us borrow the Pontiac Bonneville station wagon and tow what we called the ”Trash-Tron” over to a local lake for skiing.

Wanting to learn to barefoot, we figured out if we got the skier up on a single, pushed the throttle on the Merc to WFO we could eke out 32 mph, just enough to stick a barefoot on the water and drop the ski...voila...barefooting behind a tri-hull.

We eventually painted up a barefoot ski with a shamrock encased in a circle with a line through it. The caption read:

”Attention: This is NOT your lucky day. Please place me back in the water and a barefoot skier will be back to retrieve me shortly”

Hilarious, but such great fun! Thanks for that photo, awesome.
