Nixon’s stayed pretty busy, even caught his first ocean fish this year, a little Calico bass off a beach house we stayed at. None of these places hold a candle to Powell though, can’t wait to get back down in a couple weeks!

Yupper! I was stationed at the Soo in the early 80's. Beautiful country, the winters were harsh for this AZ boy.

Watching a good dog work a field is amazing.

MOOSE gets better every year. He easily had his best trip ever. That photo with the pheasant flush, he held that point a good 4 minutes before the hunter got up to him and the lab flushed the bird. He is sooooooo much fun to hunt with. He’s 10 now, and is motivating me to try to get out more with him.

I wasn’t able to shoot this year, but went to enjoy the camaraderie and the dogs work. And it might have been my favorite trip ever due to the way he worked. And seeing the potential that Mel has is icing on the cake. She has the potential be great as well.

Takes a lot of work with the dogs. I haven't hunted birds for quite awhile but I always got a kick opening morning hearing yelling get back here you son of b---h ! I didn't realize that was such a popular dog name I raise exotic pheasants, chuckers and quail a fun little hobby for me anyway.

I am actually buying three dozen this spring and kicking them loose on my hobby ranch. Everything other than the ringnecks are pricey little boogers. I do precision air rifles so I can hunt year around.
