Glad someone admires these solid old vessels.
I've been taking my 15 foot 1958 Lonestar down to the lake for thirty years.
Oh, yeah, I've seen some rough water, have spent many a day fishing the canyon, or waiting out a big blow to make it back to the marina.
I'm sure this boat has seen more fish landed than a lot of 100 K bass boats !
It's not the size of the boat, it's who's at the helm !

Mr. Jimmy, I've seen a few of those Lonestar boats over the years and restorers really like that model. I see you repowered with an updated motor.
The deep V hull really cuts through the waves. I have fished in a friends Lonestar, don't know the year but we caught a lot of fish, and it had a smooth ride.

Our boats are good for most small lakes and also Lake Powell, but because of size we as owners are very tuned to weather conditions.
We love our old boats and being safe.

I'm in metro Dever, if your close we could do a meet-up

Thanks, 4LOJO I do most of the work in winter. It's always stored inside, and I reupholster the seats and added chrome side rails after that photo.
It's fun to have something to do when it's just not possible to be on the water, like today it's snowing!

It's not perfect, there are nicks and scratches, but I love it!

Riptides are natural and you can avoid them......just stay out of the water.

Purposely created 3 ft high navigation hazards that cause property damage, injury and death, you cannot avoid when beached at your campsite, minding your own business.

When children are crushed, and the lawsuits start like they have in other states (just search wakeboat lawsuits), you'll see action at our lake.

I know this sounds harsh and 'unvarnished', but property damage, injury and death are also kinda harsh.

My Dad always said: "the right to swing your fist stops at the other guys jaw" (I so miss him....:)

Wake boat operators don't understand that proverb, and also don't understand the long standing legal precedent that they are responsible for any and all damage their wake causes. They will learn that.

My heart goes out to the innocent families that will be dealing with the aftermath.

OK, off the soapbox.....stay safe....

Just an FYI as a save your *** if your transom saver was to come off or hydraulic failure. There is a trailering bracket that comes down on those evinrudes that takes the pressure off of the hydraulic system.

Perfect would be a 65 chev truck matching colors:cool:

Yeah, I believe that solid aluminum boat my have the lowest CL number in Colorado !
Those E tec outboards are awesome ! My brother in law has the same Outboard. He loves it !
To bad Evinrude went out of business. Parts might become obsolete.
Been in Glenwood for forty years.

4LOJO, I agree, seen some matching truck-boat matching colors, so cool

Mr Jimmy, Evinrude will make parts for the next 10 years, hopefully I won't need much. If I come up to Basalt this summer, we could meet up at rydi reservoir. I've fished it a few times and also caught a good number of trout.

You wouldnt need to order it, it is built into the outboard. There is a bracket circled in red that rotates down and fits into the notches I have pointed at with the red arrow. You lower your engine until it takes the weight off the hydraulic rods and you can use your transom saver to take weight off the transom in tandem.

Thanks, I still have some work to do, carpet update this winter, just not sure what color to choose. It now has the original dark grey.
I already reupholstered the seats after the above photo, white with turquoise piping Any suggestions on color for the new carpeting?

I also despise the wakeboats and the clowns that have no regard for others...that being said...every thread does not need a wakeboard rant!

Very cool boat!

Stay with the gray I don't know why they still use the color in new boats today? Plus keeps things original .

we’ve done the run from Bullfrog to Wahweap with our 21’ speedboats several times, but I’m not sure I’d try It in a smaller boat. We’ve had some miserable trips with wind and waves.
