Looks like you had a great time, man that water is still to cold for me to get in, use to in my younger days🥶.
Would have loved to meet you guys, but we headed South to San Juan and Escalante.
Have a good one
It definitely took my breath away! I spent a few hours on Saturday trying to catch crappie with no luck, wondering the whole time what you would be doing in my situation. We're bound to run in to each other one of these days!

We took 29 Crappie home from the San Juan and Escalante. But it was to muddy to get where I wanted to go. I was hoping you would get into them, but it looks like you caught a lot of fish and had a great time.

Great report! Thank you! We plan on camping in forgotten over Memorial Day weekend to be close to the restroom for everybody. Hope it’s in working order! The duck pic is classic!
There is not much to Forgotten canyon this year. Maybe 200 yards up each of the 3 forks before you get tree'd out and too shallow. We hung a floating water bottle on the first tree's just above water line right at the mouth of the middle fork that goes back to the ruins. Figured with the water rising it would be needed. There are some really cool caves on the left just past the floating restrooms. Good luck

Thanks for the tip! There is a good spot down the left hand fork of Forgotten, a good spot in the back of Smith Fork (lots of good imerging trees back there as well), and Cedar had a handful of good spots.
We hit that left fork of Forgotten on April 30th and May 1st. We easily caught 100 fish in there both days and it is a little cove back there. Kept a couple walleye and crappie and left all the smallies and largies for you. Did you see the lake past the tree's and over the sand hill? Huge lake trapped back in there. I couldn't believe how many tree's in the middle fork of Forgotten. You can not get very far at all from where it forks. Maybe 200 yards before it gets sketchy. Was my bottle still floating on the tree's just before going into the middle fork? We had an amazing trip with so many fish and great weather.

Your bottle was still there! I never went passed it. Wishing I would have now! Most of the fishing we did in Forgotten was in the right fork.

Glad the bottle was still there. If the water comes up another foot or two it will help someone not wreck a prop. There was not much going on in the middle fork. Muddy/murky water and it got shallow fast with lots of trees. Didn't catch much in there. We didn't spend much time in the right fork other than the tree's right at the beginning of it. Guess we missed out on that one. But there was seriously fish everywhere on rocky shorelines and underwater shoals.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and details of your trip. This reassures my trip down there this weekend!! Glad the muscles didn't seize up in that cold water! I would be at the bottom of the lake with Charlie horses in every muscle!! So happy to be getting on the lake before the big rush coming when the lake level hits 3525 and everyone want to launch on the new ramp!!

Tight lines!!
