Started monday the 18th and spent most of the day looking for Crappie. I struck out and decided to go back to Striper fishing. I fished the Salt and pepper assassin, and just Banged that bottom. Fishing was good and ended the day with 31. Met Fishnfly and his bunch, fishing at 123, they were all having fun and its great to put a face to wordling's.
Tuesday started out good, and got slower as the day went on. I stayed with the jig and assassin and only trolled for a little bit. I believe trolling the UM rigs would of put more fish in the boat, but I much prefer catching them casting. Ended the day with 36.
The 20th I went back to the the same spots I have fished for 6 trips now, and made two cast and when I went to move the old Honda wouldn't start. A guy kinda panics for a minute or two when your that far from BF. I took the cover off and tried jumping the starter with no luck. I took the flywheel cover off and loved seeing I could rope start it if I had a rope😁. I found a rope that worked, and the first pull of View attachment 26797View attachment 26798View attachment 26799View attachment 26800View attachment 26801the Honda fired right up. I went to camp and never shut it off, packed up and headed for BF.
It was great to meet Fishnfly and his gang, hope fishing was good for them.
Kevin it was so great to finally meet you. I truly appreciate all the time you spent chatting. My son and his friends really got a kick out of you and wanted to know why I couldn’t put them on fish like you were catching! 😂
One of them even asked me after we saw you the 2nd day if they could go ride on your boat and fish with you. Loved that comment!
I’ll work on a report here soon. Kinda hit the ground running when I got home yesterday. All in all it was a fabulous trip. Couldn’t have asked for better weather. Meeting you was definitely a highlight for me.
Thanks man. I appreciate you immensely!

Oh. I’m so glad you got your motor started! We noticed your camp was broken down and gone on Wednesday afternoon. We spent the morning in Red Canyon fishing. Found a couple crappie and some good LMB’s.

If I had of known those kids wanted to fish with me, they would have been on the old tiller boat with me for sure😊. I appreciate your kind words, and meeting all of you.

When your worried about going 35 miles with a 9.9 Suzuki, a guy can pull it pretty hard, and it fired up like a Honda🤣
One of my first boats had a Yamaha 60 that died in the back of The San Juan arm. I had a 6hp trolling motor that I slow motored all through the night and half the next day back to Bullfrog. I know what you’re talking about. I bet a 9.9 and only 35 miles you could have made it in 1/3rd the time;)

I was fishing in the back of Last Chance late Oct one fall. When I stopped to get the pole off a snag, the motor quit and would not start. I though bad things were coming as I'd not seen a single houseboat or fishing boat anywhere in Last Chance and thought I was totally alone without a kicker or trolling motor. Just as I pulled the motor hood cover to see what I could see, a bass boat came out of a canyon and was surprised to see me as I waved for assistance. They pulled up and asked my problem. Turned out they were both mechanics and one jumped in my boat. Asked the other guy if the points were a thick "match book" or a thin one. They decided thick, he adjusted the points and the motor snapped to life...thanks God and a couple Good Samaritans. Chuck
