Check out SixGill fishing. They are out of Texas. I have been a Berkley rod and Shimano, Abu Garcia reel guy most all my life. I came across SixGill and tried them. I have spinning and bait casters from them. Good equipment and a lot of my purchases were when they had BOGO sales. That's all I fish with now. I have 5 rod's setup up with spincast and 4 with bait cast. They will have a spin cast in your price range that work very well. I have used them at Powell for the last 4 years.

I have a couple of Daiwa Regal LTs (two sizes) and really like them. They're under $60 which, I think, makes them a really good value. I have a 2500 Tatula too, but I can't really tell that much difference. I also have Pflueger Presidents (two sizes) and a couple of Sedonas (2500s), but I like the Daiwas better.

I think I'll take Ed's advice this next season, and buy a couple Pflueger reels to replace a couple of my worn out Shimano Sedona's. Although I love the Shimano's I've got, nothing lasts forever, and I'm guilty of not being the best at maintenance and upkeep. I think it's my 2nd favorite Sedona, has been having an issue that I cannot for the life of me figure out. The anti-reverse on it, somehow will flip itself on, and my wife will tell me as we're cruising down the lake, that I've got a loose line flapping in the wind. It will start to un-wind itself, because the button got tripped. I lost a great crankbait because of this. I'm due for a few replacements, time to test out the other brands I think!

You won't regret buying those Pfuegers. You should be very happy with them. 😁

It’s nice to know that I was on the cutting edge. I switched to Pflueger President,15+years ago after Bass Pro discontinued their spinning reels I had. I've been using theMedalist over 40 years since before the "Rendezvous at the Forks" back in the "80's", Must have 10 Pflueger spinning reels now. The only issue is that some of the spools don’t interchange. My bad. Other than that I’m happy with them. Sq
