New Situation, Portable Toilet Question

Wag bags are approved. They come with a bag within a bag (for extra protection), poo powder, toilet paper, hand wipes included. They are good for a few uses each. They do have a plastic portable toilet available also - but we usually just give one to each of the guys and let them work out the logistics themselves.

Sir,

That would be one of many brands. I don’t think that government cares as long as it turns its contents to some biodegradable form. Pooping is the one thing today that I believe still gets bipartisan support.

Well, that specific brand was recommended to me by rangers in Zion NP for a multi-day trek through Kolob Canyon. Yes, many brands now. Yes, the government generally doesn't care as long as the product meets their standard.

The Waste Alleviation and Gelling (WAG) bag was developed by the military (marines, specifically, I believe). Phillips Environmental later registered it as a trademark - along with PooPowder and other related products - and they own and operate CleanWaste who currently markets those products in their "GO Anywhere" line. So, calling any of the brands a WAG bag is no different than calling a generic tissue a "Kleenex." Or, calling an adjustable open-ended wrench a "Crescent" wrench.

:)

I got the Mrs one of those folding potty chairs that use the bags for when we go boonie camping and it goes in her little potty tent. I store the used bags in a ammo can until we get to a trash can.

Works great and she's a "happy camper".

You can see her potty tent on the right side of the truck.
