I have an older boat with a very simple Garmin Striker 4 fish finder, and now I want to upgrade, but don't want the new tech to be by far the nicest thing on the boat and worth more than the vessel it's attached to. 😆

What would you recommend in the $500-$1000 range?

Lowrance Eagle Eye 9 forward facing , You can find deals on ebay and Amazon Its mobile and I use it on my kayak and Ice fishing as will as my boat . It is only a third of the price of a Garmin or Hummingbird ,But it does work . I am getting better at locating your lure and finding the schools of fish. I have 2 one I bought one at $999 and the other for about $750.

Garmin usually runs great deals during black friday. I think i picked up my Garmin 93SV for around $550 a couple years ago. I like the garmin units since you can always add the bells and whistles later as you want/need them.
