Navigation - Channel Buoy Compass Headings

The reason for fresh track is buoys move and tracks at deepest point means nothing after a big wind or a big lift or drop. Also when making a track for possible emergency use stay at least 100 feet AWAY from the buoys so you are well clear of them at night. Also be VERY careful with lighted or reflector buoys at night if not on a track, it is easy to line up on the farthest buoy instead of the nearest buoy and you may have dirt between you and the distant buoy you are lined up on. I also have lowest level track that is amazing to illuminate for backup on separate screen.

The whole compass thing is a fun daytime game, but absolutely not to be considered for night time navigations, way to many deadly variables with darkness and rocks and cliffs and speed and wind being top concerns.
