Monsoon season?

We got a small amount of rain in the Rifle area, first since around June 3rd. Need much more. Hummingbirds are going crazy now only females left the males already heading south. Cool down is nice, just need some water to hit the ground.

These amazing rains are going to save the Elk hunts. It was looking really grim up until this point!

We’ve been getting daily heavy rain and hail in Evergreen CO since Friday. Everything is greening back up. Normally it stays pretty dry through August so this is nice. Unfortunately it’s not helpful for the Colorado R.

Hi everybody, this is Debby Downer, and I've got this to say. The sporadic rain all around the basin is better than nothing at all, it's all fine and dandy, but the lake level continues its steady progress to lower and lower lake levels (check out lakepowell.water-data.com). All we can do is hope for another 1983 in 2025-2026. It hurts my heart to say those things, but facts are facts.

Good thing about late summer monsoons, they seem to coincide with a good winter snow pack to come! Monsoon rain fall in 2022 was heavy at the end of summer and we had a great snowpack in 2022 going into the 2023 season!
