Monsoon Conflicted

I live in Flagstaff for a few good reasons not the least of which is that it’s just 2 hours from my front door to the shores of Lake Powell. Another is for the four seasons and our great weather. Today that could be seen as a drawback because I was packed up and ready to go to Page at first light to work on some boat projects, launch my runabout and play a bit.

When I woke at 4:30 ready to hit the road and went outside it was almost cold and as the sun was rising I could tell it was very broadly overcast. I enjoy the monsoons here a lot and checked the weather for Page today, mid 90’s. It’s going to be mid 60’s here in Flagstaff today for a high (unreal) so as a result I got sidetracked and decided to stick around for the day and catch up on some things here. Maybe I’ll go tonight or in the morning? So here I am stuck on my deck in 60 degree weather drinking coffee; my boat projects and LP will still be there tomorrow. Nice choices to have, feeling blessed. If you want to live close to Powell Flagstaff is a great option.

The Monsoon is still with us and it’s going to be a twenty six degree difference for a high between Flagstaff and Page today. (Amazing) So do I ask my wife WHAT I THINK about us traveling up there today or do I just tell her to get in the truck?

If I choose the latter I’d lay my odds of surviving unscathed as low.
