We launched from Antelope the 29th and headed out for a 6 day trip. On the way up we couldn’t resist a stop at buoy 25 wall. The fishing was OK but not the frenetic pace as reported earlier. We boated a 1/2 dozen 2-3# and moved on. We found a great 1 boat campsite in mountain sheep and spent the rest of the day playing in the water. The 30th we made a SanJaun run and spotted a few slurps in the main channel but they were smallish and spooky. We spotted several more slurps in the mouth of the San Juan all the way to Cha, they seemed slightly less spooky there. 1-2 fish were all we could get out of any slurp (if any at all). Lure selection seemed less important than keeping our distance, we caught on top water, spoons, crank bait and swim bait. Whatever you prefer just make sure you can cast it a country mile. Finesse fishing for Bass at the boulder wall before Cha was awesome. Nothing huge but nice fish and consistent. We caught (and released) more LMB than SMB. We continued fishing and playing over the next 4 days catching stripers on bait in Wetherill and at the mouth of Rock Creek, trolling canyons and out of slurps. Slurps were consistent everywhere we boated (Rock Creek-San Juan) regardless of time of day but obviously easier to see early AM. Bass fishing was good everywhere we took the time to try. Over all we boated over 100 fish without much effort. A lot of goofing off, waterskiing, swimming, tubing, paddle board, cliff jumping and of course a fish fry
