Thanks for the report. I was catching stripers in the area you circled in red in early May. There were also a lot of stripers 200-500 yards East of the mouth of Reflection Canyon. They were not easy to catch in early May and don't sound any easier and possibly more difficult last week.

In early May I did go 5 casts in a row with a deep diving jerk bait worked fast. Caught a few on spoons. At least a couple dozen trolling. Probably another couple dozen on anchovies. Most of the stripers were not interested in anything I tried and most were also boat shy.

I might be back at Lake Powell next week myself. If I make it, I'll be in a bass boat with two white dogs. Stripers should be starting to slurp. Slurping stripers are not a great way to catch large numbers of stripers but "hunt/chase" makes it fun.
I'll be back down from June 15-18 and I'll be paying them a visit. I hope they're still home! If they are, we'll definitely put more effort in and see if they're more stubborn than we are. It sounds like you're going down the week before us so good luck and I'll be interested to hear how it goes if you revisit that spot! Good luck!

Earliest I’ll be on the lake is Monday the 10th. I might launch at Halls Crossing or Page. I will cover a lot of water. Might head to back of Escallante as well as the back of the San Juan and hit up main channel and multiple side canyons on in mid lake area as well.
There should be fishable slurps and I’m sure the smallmouth will hit top water baits with aggression in the morning and evening. I’ll stop by if you are still on the water and we cross paths.
We'll be heading out the day after you get there but come say hi if you see a black Tracker Pro Guide!

EDIT: I got my weeks mixed up... We will be there a week after you so good luck and excited to hear how you all do!
