This is what I tried. All it gave me access to buy for him was “walk in access” fishing license. Nothing was specific for Powell etc. and the price was $0.00 so I was confused…
Such a shame they charge for anyone under 18 to fish.![]()
Have him sign it as Smallie McSlayer. This is what I just got him online. It was the only option given. At least through Utah.

Hold on to that, it may become valuable as it actually delineates 'Gender'This is what I just got him online. It was the only option given. At least through Utah.

I had a similar situation in Tijuana where we were pulled over for going the wrong way on a one way street. We negotiated the fine down to $20.00, and the cop waved us on the same wrong way we were going.I know in 2023 that story sounds crazy, but please put it in perspective. In May 1988, I was 32, my cuz was 26, his wife 24.
We had no cell phone cameras, no video cameras, only a35mm Pentax, no knowledge of F&G rules, courts, tickets, taking badge numbers, really anything.
Two uniformed armed guys show up in Utah, find out we're from California, and basically fleece us as we're 'rubes'.
It's called 'Baksheesh' and not a new concept.
In 1974, @ 19, I was with my boss driving down to Ensenada. Before we crossed into Mexico he stopped at a gas station in Chula Vista and changed a twenty into singles. I asked why...he smiled and said you'll see. Sure enough, just before Ensenada we were pulled over by a fat cop with no car who waived us over and said we were speeding.
My boss gave him $3 to pass.....or go to jail!
Here's another fun part of that story, if anyone cares: After Tom gave him the $3, the fat cop gave him two dog eared 'tickets' to a concert. My boss said: no officer, please take your children to the concert. The cop smiled and waved us through. I was 'gobsmacked' and said to Tom, those tickets were really dirty and old. He said listen and learn: he's given those tickets to 100+ people....so he can tell himself he doesn't take 'bribes', remember he's Catholic.
Some stories stick in your mind forever.
Oh, and in 1988, they had no coin changer, that's why it was $60 even....they didn't wanna look like the 'Good Humor' guy.
Back to thread: Experience says: get the $5 license, so you can say (like in the old war movies)
"Ja, mein papers ist in order!"

What if you launch at the Stateline ramp lolI think if you launch in Utah you follow Utah rules. If you launch in Az you follow AZ rules.
I always buy Az license and launch at stateline ramp. Either license is good. If Utah license follow Utah rules. Just looked it up.What if you launch at the Stateline ramp lol
