Lees Ferry Boating Question

Hello,

We have our annual Powell trip coming up in about a week and a half, and I was hoping to check out Lees Ferry for the first time before we go to the lake. I’ve been looking forward to running the river by boat, but with lower release rates from the dam I’m concerned about the water levels.

Has anyone been on that stretch of the river recently who can weigh in? I really want to make it work, but not if I risk messing up my boat or motor.

Thanks for your help,

Garrett

This is a pic of the riffle at Lee's Ferry from 3 days ago. Hope that helps.20260801_123758.jpg

I haven't been recently but Aramark and others still run boats up and down the river everyday. Even at higher releases, there is a decent risk of hitting a rock if you are unfamiliar with the river. Still doable but less margin for error though with the lower flows.
