Sorry about the late report stayed at Antelope Marina on a houseboat the week of the 16th . My wife and I stayed up past hole in the rock the first night and way up the San Juan the second night. Every morning I fished for smallies while my wife slept, and my dog, until the sun came up. They were on the back of my boat. Great fishing every morning. I used olive with red sparkle Gitzits with 1/4 ounce lead head. Been using this color for over 20 years used to get them right from Bobby Garland. The second evening up the San Juan I was having a blast on top water popper type lures. Got into smallies, large mouth and stripers. They were not boiling but man did they hit that top water hard. The next 4 days my buddy came down and we fished around the main channel by last chance I used top water and did ok he used gitzit and caught too many to count. There was a lot of small ones but also some nice ones I will load some pics on a different thread. Fish On !!~
