Lake Record Catfish - Bruce Fenton - Padre Bay

Here is a thread open for questions if you have any about the BIG catfish caught by Bruce last week. It was caught on a white bomber spoon:



It weighed 18.45 pounds.

So cool. And yet another great example of how amazing this site is. Amazing help from Bob on the ramp, excellent description and photos etc.. On any other site the guy in the pic would have blacked out the background and the lure. Thanks for sharing. Helps when you can’t actually be there.

That is exactly right. Fishing for stripers and catching a giant catfish - Amazing!!!

I've caught more catfish fishing for other species than I've ever caught fishing specifically for them. I used to catch several every trip when I was fishing primarily with Berkley Power Worms. They loved the smell and taste of those things. I've also caught quite a few while striper fishing with anchovies. I still catch several a year drop shot fishing for smallmouths.
