Cheaper in the long run than the diesel generators that they were using and the generators can now be used as backup. Rates are expected to drop from $0.40 to 0.24 per kwh and CO2 emissions are almost completely eliminated. It's a win/win situation for everybody and a great model for small communities anywhere that have sufficient sunshine to make it work.
