Lake Powell Fishing Tournament May 8-9

We are hosting a multispecies team tournament at Lake Powell from May 8-9. All species count see details at the link and sign up on Fish Donkey

What Is This Tournament?
• Catch-and-photograph, multi-species fishing tournament
• Held on Lake Powell
• Fish solo or as a team, max 100 teams can enter
◦ Up to 3 anglers per registration
◦ When registering, only one team member (the captain) needs to complete registration and payment.
▪ Team members may access the tournament on their own devices by logging into FishDonkey using the captain's account credentials, but this is not required.

What You Need to Participate
• Register in the FishDonkey app

◦ All fish must be entered by photo submission in the app

• At least one team member must have access to a smart device for fish submission

• You need an approved measuring/bump board for fish photos

• All participants must follow Aquatic Invasive Species regulations




How to Win
This tournament uses a multi-species combined length format.
Each team may submit their largest fish of each species caught during the tournament. The length of each qualifying fish is recorded, and the combined total of your team’s largest fish from each species will determine your final score.
You do not need to catch every species in Lake Powell to compete. Any species legally caught in Lake Powell during tournament hours may be submitted.

• Largemouth Bass: 17"

• Smallmouth Bass: 15"

• Striped Bass: 23"

• Bluegill / Sunfish: 8"

• Black Crappie: 14"

• Channel Catfish: 30"

• Walleye: 25"

• Carp: 20"

Fishing Methods
• Rod and reel only

• Fish may be caught from shore, boat, kayak, or other legal & public access methods
◦ Team members must fish together from a single vessel and may not fish separate areas of the lake at the same time.

• Participants may fish anywhere on Lake Powell during the tournament period

When and Where
This tournament will be held on Lake Powell from Friday, May 8 at approximately 3:00 PM through Saturday, May 9 at approximately 5:00 PM.

Participants may fish anywhere on the lake during tournament hours. There is no required in-person check-in, meeting, or centralized launch location, allowing anglers to participate from any marina or access point on Lake Powell.

Prizes

Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 teams:

• 1st Place: $1,000

• 2nd Place: $500

• 3rd Place: $250

Depending on the # of participants, payouts may be extended to the Top 5 teams, and/or prize amounts may increase.

All registered participants will also receive entry into a raffle prize drawing. Raffle prizes may be claimed virtually e.g. gift card, shipped, or picked up by participants depending on their address. Over $1,000 worth of raffle prizes

Tournament Entry
$120 per team: 1–3 anglers per registration, the tournament cost is the same regardless of how many people are on a team.
Register and enter fish through the FishDonkey app.

End of Tournament Details
After the tournament concludes, organizers plan to hold a virtual awards presentation where results will be announced and cash prizes will be awarded to top-placing participants.
To accommodate for cell service and travel times, the awards presentation will occur Monday May 11th at 8:30 PM.

Additional Details
All fish entered in the tournament must be photographed, measured, and submitted through the FishDonkey app using an approved measuring device.
Tournament staff will review all submissions to verify species and length.
Leaderboards will update throughout the contest, so check the app for live standings and real-time updates.
