Lake Powell Challenge

Just realized for our annual fishing trip we will be houseboating back from Dangling Rope to Wahweap Friday or Saturday when the Big Boys are Poker Runnin’.

Are there any restricted areas I need to plan for or any advice from those with experience navigating with a houseboat during this event?

You are in for a treat!

The first wave will be well above 100 mph. I am not aware of any restrictions for you. You will want to to see it from edge to edge so I suggest go to idle and get up on the top deck. Wakes are small.

The lake Powell challenge is an awesome event, they donate to JDRF - type 1 diabetes. It is a major major fund raiser for this group.

You do not need to have a fast boat to be part of this poker run, just register and get your cards at the dealers on the lake and enjoy a great group of people and great food.
