Lake Canyon Stripers

Been a long while since my last post but sounds like there has been a lot of pressure up north so I stayed close to BF. In two 6 hour days we boated 250+ mostly stripers. Some very big crappie, few SMB/LMB and walleye. It is so nice to save the gas and ride time staying close :ROFLMAO:. Did not matter where we were but the main channel south shore prior to Lake Canyon was on fire. The back of Hall's was no different but water was warmer there and we were catching all species. There was a school of larger skinny stripers there as well. Troll,cast,spoon...did not matter it was all working. Water 61 main channel and 65 back of Hall's. No problem launching and they are claiming only 1.5 of launchable ramp left but we were launching no problem in 2023 with 3520 elevation... Enjoy

I have said this a few times, but there is no canyon/bay spookier to me than Hall’s Creek Bay, especially during this low water. So many areas that shoot up to prop buster depth that seem about random. I’ve got it decently mapped out in my head now but I’ve got to the point I flat out hate going in there. Nothing has happened yet but I’ve been close many times!

When you say “south shore prior to lake canyon” I assume you mean right before you turn the corner, in the main lake, and can see lake canyon? Or do you mean the south shore of lake canyon itself?

Agreed 100%

Also wondering what "the main channel south shore prior to Lake Canyon was on fire" means. I am heading down tomorrow and will have a 1/2 day to get into some fish in between houseboat projects. Any suggestions to better understand where this is in relationship to Lake Canyon?

#metoo. The San Juan can be that way too. Being serious.

Yes, turn the corner and the flat on the left. Careful as the island is not visible yet but it is there. There were stripers on every 20' flat even the mouth of Halls was stacked up.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification Viking.

I would have to point out that main lake structure has been awesome for me the last few years, in the spring. The fact that Vining found so many fish there would lead me to believe that virtually any main lake structure is going to have stripers!
