Read a blog from a couple who kayaked and then hiked up Antelope Canyon. Sounded pretty attractive, with the only bad area being a debris field where the water met dry land. We are headed down October 15-18 and thought we might try this. Anyone done it? Recently? At this lake level?

Only an often ignored technicality comes to mind. I don't know how often it's enforced, but I have always been under the impression that the Navajo nation prohibited any access into Antelope above high water line without permission (measured in monetary units). Begging for forgiveness might be easier than asking permission 🤔

I did this back in late August when I launched a kayak from the Antelope Point public ramp. Round trip was like 3.5 hours with only a 5 minute hike on land into the Canyon. This is actually a very popular kayak route. Very little debris field back then and the end of the Canyon was just after where the tour boats circle to come back out.
