Just back yesterday. HOTHOTHOT!! 104 most days. In spite of new moon - I think the extra heat put all fish into hold pattern. Water as high as 85.8 and no discernable thermoclines. Lots of massive schools near the main canyon mouths (Esp Sevenmile, Lake and Warm Spgs) holding from 40 - 140 feet. Could only manage a few spooning, but the catfish really liked the chovies. No boils from GHB to Escalante - but was on the water from 8- 5 - stayed in the BF campground and slipped the boat.
Hope to make another trip early or late October - unless they "close" the BF north ramp!!!
BTW - LOTS OF NEW ROCKS EMERGING- ONE super dangerous between red BF buoy 2 and the Stanton shore. Saw one cruiser hit it and a couple more disabled there. Why the NPS doesn't mark these spots is dereliction of duty!!
